What is soft worldbuilding? And why is Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli the undisputed masters of it? How can you use it to write a story just like one of their classic animated features?
Well, soft worldbuilding is part of the hardness spectrum that a fictional world must address as part of its implementation throughout the story. In this video I’ll use a few examples including Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle to explain the process of that implementation. Please take a look.
