Russia’s S-500 air defense system can’t reliably hit F-35s, despite what Moscow claims. In this video, I break down the physics of stealth, radar limitations, and the critical difference between detecting a target and actually generating a firing solution against it.

Midway through, I drop a Gen Z-style explainer to make radar cross section and stealth finally click for the cool crowd.

I also walk through the S-500’s real-world performance, production limits, and why even Russia’s closest partners haven’t rushed to buy it.

Bottom line: the system is real, the capabilities are limited, and the hype is doing most of the work.

I should also mention that my views are my own and are not necessarily representative of the USAF or DoD.
