In 2024, Kash Patel told Glenn Beck that Jeffrey Epstein's black book was under the "direct control of the Director of the FBI." He said it on camera, to Trump supporters, before he had the job. Then he got the job. Adam Schiff played the clip. Then he asked Patel to explain the difference between what he promised and what he did. Patel said the black book had been released. Schiff said that's not what he was talking about. Then Schiff asked whether Epstein trafficked anyone besides himself. Patel said there was no credible information. Schiff pointed out that victims had testified otherwise. Patel said the Department of Justice had made that determination — not him. Schiff asked who was on the list. Patel said the index had been released. The hearing ended without an answer.
