Take a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind my Spooky Halloween Pumpkin video, inspired by the charm of classic vintage animation🎃🍂.
When I was little, I was watching a black-and-white cartoon on our old television. And then my dad came home from work. He had a box in his hands and said, “I have a surprise for you!”
He unplugged our old TV, with its big round rotary channel dial, and brought in a new one with little buttons. My mom and I were so excited! Dad turned it on, and the cartoon continued — but this time, it was in color. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was!
I think that’s when I fell in love with cartoons and animation forever.
I’ve been drawing since childhood and always dreamed of becoming an animator. Even now, as an adult, I still love returning to those childhood memories, immersing myself in the fairytale worlds I grew up with, and creating little scenes that remind me of how I felt watching those cartoons as a little girl.
Perhaps a part of us never really grows up. We simply find new ways to hold on to the things we loved as children. 💛
