Experience the perfect contrast between wild nature and ultimate indoor coziness.

Watch the thunderstorm rage over the open ocean through the large glass doors of this rustic, wooden attic cabin. Heavy rain drums against the skylights, and powerful waves crash onto the shore just outside. A dramatic lightning strike illuminates the dark sky over the water.

Inside, the atmosphere is pure serenity. The small fireplace crackles warmly, casting a soft glow that dances across the wooden beams. String lights and candles provide intimate, inviting light. A massive bookshelf separates the comfortable sofa area from the inviting bed, both laden with soft blankets. Tucked among the covers, a cat is curled up peacefully on the bed, and two large dogs are fast asleep on the rugs, all completely undisturbed by the storm, emphasizing the feeling of deep safety and comfort.

This 4K video is designed to provide a perfect background for deep sleep, relaxation, study, or focus. The immersive audio combines the rhythmic sounds of the ocean waves with the powerful rumble of thunder, the steady drumming of rain, and the comforting crackle of the wood fire.

Pull up a blanket, enjoy a hot drink, and let the storm outside wash away your worries.

A few words about how this video was created:

AI is everywhere today and is flooding the internet with content. The real problem is not creators who use AI as a tool, but the enormous amount of automatically generated, lifeless videos without any form of editing or refinement.

That is exactly why I want to openly show how my videos are created and be transparent about the use of AI.

The process starts with an AI-generated image (from common image AIs such as Leonardo, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.). However, this image is only the starting point. It is then extensively edited manually in GIMP and/or Photoshop: errors are retouched, lighting moods are adjusted, details are changed or added. After that, I split the image into multiple layers to deliberately create depth and movement later on.

The animation is then created in DaVinci Resolve. Here, I combine different elements such as real video footage, 3D renderings, and occasional small AI animations (animals). This step is very time-consuming, and a single project often ends up consisting of up to 35 layers.

A particularly large part of the work goes into the sound design. Especially in thunderstorm scenes, a single audio track can consist of up to 50 individual sound clips. Many of these recordings were captured by myself using various devices (including the Tascam DR-40, Zoom H2n, and Blue Yeti microphone). In addition, a small number of royalty-free CO0 sounds are used. All sound sources are carefully layered, edited, and balanced. Individual sound clips are processed in Audacity and partly with the help of FL Studio, where timing, dynamics, and tonal balance are manually adjusted. The final soundscape is then assembled and mixed in DaVinci Resolve, resulting in a unique, living atmosphere that develops organically and could (hopefully) never be replicated by a purely automated AI workflow.

Once the image, animation, and sound form a cohesive whole, small details are added, such as my “Cozy Timez” logo at the beginning, and the scene is then rendered. By this point, up to 13 hours of work can go into a single video.

This video is the result of a hybrid, handcrafted process:

AI serves as a creative tool, but the atmosphere, depth, and mood are created through many conscious, manual decisions.

I hope this explanation was able to give you a small insight into my work, and I wish you a cozy and relaxing time with this video.
