The concert was held at Madison Square Garden, New York on June 30, 1999, under the title "Eric Clapton & Friends In Concert: A Benefit For The Crossroads Centre At Antigua". The concert featured many notable musical guests, including Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige and Bob Dylan.
Dylan's entire set featured 5 songs originally written and recorded by Dylan, namely "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright", "It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry", "Born In Time", "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat", and "Not Dark Yet". However, this set marked a notable departure from Dylan's usual routine in the Never Ending Tour (1988-present), as the songs were not performed with Dylan's own band, but with Clapton's band instead. Dylan also sang on "Crossroads" with Clapton. An encore soon followed, with Clapton and co. performing a fiery rendition of "Sunshine of Your Love" (Cream). This was subsequently followed by a performance of the blues classic "Bright Lights, Big City" with Dylan, Clapton and Sheryl Crow joining in with the band to deliver an unforgettable performance that marked a suitable bookend to the concert.
The whole Dylan set was broadcasted in its entirety on television, airing on VH1 in America for the first time on 17 July 1999. However, the official home releases of the concert (VHS and DVD) only included 2 songs from the Dylan set ("Don't Think Twice", "Crossroads"). A recording of the concert was never officially issued on CD.
