What should you unplug during a power outage? TVs, computers, consoles, routers, and chargers can be exposed to a sudden surge when electricity returns.
Switch devices off and unplug them at the outlet—never pull the cable. Leave one lamp switched on as a signal, keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed, and do not reconnect anything that smells burned, sparks, smokes, or feels unusually hot.
