How will AI change the American economy, and how do we ensure that everyone benefits? Peter McCrory, Chief Economist at Anthropic, will discuss what the early evidence shows about how AI is changing work and what policymakers should prepare for next. McCrory leads the Economics team at Anthropic, which publishes the Anthropic Economic Index, new research from inside a frontier lab, and recently a scenario model for the economy of 2030. They will explore AI's effects on productivity, jobs, and wages, as well as how much growth AI could deliver by the end of the decade, how broadly it will be shared, and what policymakers can do to prepare.
This conversation will be moderated by Jason Furman, Aetna Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy, Harvard Kennedy School; Weil Director, Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government.
