Copenhagen Atomics claims it can build a thorium molten salt reactor that's simpler, cheaper, and more scalable than anything before. So I flew to Denmark to see their facility firsthand: the Onion Core design, the new pumps, the salt chemistry, and how close they actually are to going critical. This is an honest, behind the scenes look at what they've built, what still has to work, and whether their approach can succeed where thorium has always fallen short.
