Which John Deere two-cylinder tractors truly mattered most?

In this video, we're counting down 10 classic John Deere tractors that helped define the two-cylinder era — from everyday row-crop workhorses to the big diesels that pushed Deere's famous two-cylinder design to its limit.

Our list includes the John Deere 60, G, B, 70 Diesel, 720 Diesel, R, D, 830 Diesel, Model A, and 730 Diesel.

These weren't just tractors on a sales brochure. They cultivated corn, pulled plows, powered belt equipment, hauled wagons, and helped generations of American farmers get their work done.

Along the way, we'll look at why the Model D helped establish Deere's two-cylinder identity, how the Model A became a familiar sight across the Corn Belt, why the R changed John Deere's diesel future, and how machines like the 720, 730, and 830 carried the old two-cylinder idea into its final years.

And yes, some respected John Deere tractors didn't make the cut.

Should the 620 be here? The 630? The GP? The 80?

That's part of the fun.

If you grew up around one of these old Deeres, owned one, worked on one, or still have one in the barn, tell us your story in the comments.
