Germany was Europe's economic miracle — now it's the eurozone's weak link. Real income per person has flatlined since 2019, industrial production is down a fifth from its 2017 peak, and the car industry that once defined "Made in Germany" is losing ground fast to China. In this video I go through what's actually broken: the "black zero" austerity years, an export addiction that left Germany exposed to tariffs, a Russian gas bet that failed, an ageing population, and a Eurozone that no longer fits Germany's needs. I also look at the case for optimism — a genuine recent bounce in growth, investment and startups — and why the IFO Institute calls it a "borrowed" recovery.
